Brief Organization Description:

Wedding Day, Inc. plans, designs and coordinates weddings and events in New York City for an African-American/Caribbean clientele. Our goal is to provide outstanding personal and professional service for our clients. Our services and products are affordable luxuries.

Intern Experience:

At Wedding Day, Inc., interns will be given the opportunity to work in an interesting and unique environment with professionals from all sectors of the Wedding and Event Industry. The Interns will provide Administrative Support virtually to the CEO/Event Planner. They will be exposed to a variety of duties and hands-on experiences that will provide valuable insight and knowledge of the industry. Interns will be able to see the positive impact a for-profit company can make on a client.

Internship Duration:

  • Start & End Dates: please see application schedule provided to the right
  • Length of Internship: 10 weeks (varies by availability and agreement)
  • Hours Worked Per Week: Not to exceed 25 hours/ (not to exceed 40 hours in summer)

Intern Compensation:

  • 3 College Credits
  • No Benefits - (This is a temporary position).

Preferred Intern Characteristics and Skills:

  • Ability to work virtually
  • Self starter
  • Knowledge of PC’s(Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point) and the Internet
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and time
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and multi-task
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds
  • Orientation to working with others as a part of a team
  • Good writing skills and experience composing general correspondence
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
